| Getting there |
By bikeWe welcome all cyclists! Please be aware that you are not allowed to cycle over the bridge - you have to take the bus, the bike will be hooked on at the back of the bus. More information at: http://www.klt.se (Kalmar Länstrafik - website only available in Swedish, please call 0491-76 12 00 for personal service). By trainWe do everything to make travel to Öland by train attractive. For instance, we offer towels, linen, toys for children, bicycles and transports to make you independent of the car and transports. All food can be purchased directly on the farm at standard prices. Note as well that the train is considerably faster than the car when you come from Copenhagen or Malmö, as it covers the distance of about 280 km in less than three hours (three and a half from Copenhagen). From Kalmar, you can take the bus to Borgholm or Köpingsvik - we can pick you up at the bus terminal, if you wish (12 Euros from Borgholm, 8 Euros from Köpingsvik). You can also rent bicycles on the farm (see Activities) and if you want to go on a day trip, cars can be rented at the Central station in Kalmar for about €60-70 per day (reservation necessary!). You can plan your train trip through German www.bahn.de or www.gleisnost.de (Gleisnost offers to book train tickets, often at considerably lower prices than official ones). If you think the journey will be too exhausting, consider an overnight stop in Copenhagen or Malmö - both cities are very attractive. By carIf you want to visit us by car, please enter your address below the map - the optimal route will be calculated automatically. By planeComing by aircraft can be comparably environmentally friendly, if you choose to fly non-stop to Copenhagen and take the train from there. Direct trains to Kalmar leave the airport once every two hours, and there are hourly trains with one or two changes in Malmö and/or Alvesta. The journey takes about 3 1/2 hours. |
